This page is a simple tutorial for those of you who are new or need a refresher on what this website is about.
A role-playing game is a game in which the participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games.
This wiki focuses on a fun game of Survivor or something of the sort, involving eliminations, teams, alliances, and other sorts of things related to competitions.
A good Host is one who can actually keep a game interesting, along with interesting challenges and twists. A bad Host makes a game un-fun and unfair. Unfair Twists can be seen on the Common-Themes page.
Hosts should always talk to set up the moment. Hosts will be required to set up teams, make challenges, and more to make the game work out. They themselves need to stay active if they want their game to work out. They always need to speak ahead of the players to make things work right. Occasionally, you might want to bold your text to avoid being ignored.
Players need to be on top of things with their competitors. They need to make alliances, break alliances, and work to win that grand prize at the end of the competition. They need to compete in challenges to make things become the funnest.
The Sample Roleplay Scenes
This is an example scene with some explanations in parentheses.
Host: Welcome, players, to Survivor: Wiki Island! How are we doing today?
JoeBob: I'm doin' fine, thank you very much!
Cherry: Yeah! It's great to be here!
(This is basic conversation)
Host: It's time to split you into teams! Team One is: JoeBob, Cherry, BlankName, and Barry!
(This is basically setting up teams or tribes. This doesn't exactly require an explanation)
Host: It's time for your first challenge! You must climb the mountain to the top and open up a chest, which in turn will give you immunity! To do this, simply post *climbs the mountain* until it has been said 6 times. It must be done in separate edits, not as one! Play this challenge out as your character and have some neat conversations on the way! Go!
